Support to the update of Honduras' NDC 3.0 aligned with the Long-Term Low-Emission and Climate-Resilient Development Strategy

To meet this goals, Climate Lead Group (CLG) provided technical and strategic support to the Government of Honduras for the comprehensive update of its NDC 3.0, ensuring alignment with the LT-LEDS and international climate commitments. The work included: planning and coordination of the update process; review of NDC 2.0 and relevant national climate policies; mitigation scenarios modeling using tools such as OSeMOSYS to inform sectoral emission trajectories; and the definition and refinement of targets and measures across mitigation, climate finance, social inclusion, and transparency (MRV/MEL). Through this project, CLG also supported a structured, multi-stakeholder participatory process with a strong focus on gender, indigenous communities, and territorial inclusion. Key outcomes included the final NDC 3.0 document formally presented by the Government of Honduras, and a methodological guide documenting the update process.
