Options to reconvert coal power plants in Dominican Republic

In this context, the project implemented by Climate Lead Group (CLG) analyzed alternatives for replacing coal-based generation. Over sixteen options to replace different coal-fire units were investigated. The alternatives were assessed from a techno-economic lense and they were ranked based on their performance. This analysis provided key inputs for planning a just and sustainable energy transition in the Dominican Republic, contributing to the country’s decarbonization and climate resilience goals while promoting economic development and job creation.
